Groundworks Contracts Manager Location: Blaydon, Newcastle / North East Salary: £50,000–£70,000 + Company Vehicle Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Groundworks Contracts Manager – Civil Engineering An established civil engineering contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Groundworks Contracts Manager to oversee multiple residential groundworks projects across the North East. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in groundworks, looking to take responsibility for multiple projects, lead site teams and play a key role in delivering schemes safely, efficiently and profitably. The successful candidate will have experience managing groundworks packages from pre-start through to completion, with a solid understanding of foundations, drainage, roads and sewers, utilities and external works. Key Responsibilities * Manage multiple residential groundworks and civil engineering projects across the North East. * Oversee Site Managers, Supervisors, operatives and subcontractors. * Plan and manage project programmes, labour, plant and resources. * Monitor project costs, budgets and variations to ensure commercial performance. * Review drawings, specifications and construction programmes. * Ensure projects are delivered safely and in line with quality standards. * Maintain strong relationships with clients and attend progress meetings. * Identify and resolve site issues to keep projects on programme. * Manage project completion, handovers and associated documentation. Requirements * Previous experience as a Groundworks Contracts Manager, or a strong background in groundworks project or site management with the capability to step up. * Good knowledge of residential groundworks, including foundations, drainage, roads and sewers, utilities and external works. * Experience managing multiple sites, teams and subcontractors. * Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills. * Understanding of project programmes, costs and variations. * Relevant construction and health and safety qualifications. * Full UK driving licence. * Competent using Microsoft Office and project reporting systems.
