Handle are currently partnering with a leading international auction house to appoint a Principal Product Designer to help shape the next generation of its digital client experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on product design with the leadership of a small team of three designers, helping modernise digital experiences for a premium global brand.

The role

• Own end-to-end customer journeys across web and mobile, from discovery and registration through to bidding, payment and post-sale.
• Lead, mentor and prioritise the work of a team of three designers.
• Set design direction while remaining hands-on with concepts, prototypes, interfaces and the evolution of the design system.
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering and commercial stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital experiences.
• Use customer research, behavioural data and AI tools to improve products, accelerate design and explore new AI-enabled experiences.
• Help improve collaboration and delivery across Design, Product and Engineering.

About you

• Proven experience designing and delivering customer-facing digital products across web and mobile.
• A strong portfolio showcasing excellent UX/UI craft and end-to-end product thinking.
• Experience leading, mentoring or managing designers and prioritising multiple initiatives.
• Confident collaborating with Product and Engineering and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Comfortable using AI tools in your design workflow and curious about emerging technologies.
• A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach, balancing design quality with commercial priorities and deadlines.

Experience in luxury, marketplaces, e-commerce or transactional products would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

The opportunity

• Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract
• Location: London, with remote working and regular in-person collaboration
