Year 2 Primary Teacher
Location: Skelmersdale
Pay: £150 to £230 per day depending on experience
Start: ASAP
Contract: Full time, long term
A primary school in Skelmersdale needs a Year 2 teacher. It is an end of key stage year group, so the school want someone who is comfortable with the assessment side and will not need hand holding through it.
The role

• Full class responsibility for Year 2, planning, teaching and assessment
• Preparing pupils for the end of Key Stage 1 phonics and assessment expectations
• Moderating writing with the rest of the key stage team
• Directing a teaching assistant who works with the class most of the week
• Keeping parents informed at the usual points in the year

What the school need

• QTS, QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Key Stage 1 experience, ideally including Year 2
• Confident with phonics and early reading
• Accurate assessment judgements you can evidence
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
