Project Quality Engineer

Location: Peterlee, County Durham (100% On Site)
Duration: 12 Month Contract

The Opportunity

Belcan are currently supporting one of the leaders in the Engineering industry with their search for a Project Quality Engineer. They are looking for a Project Quality Engineer to support supplier quality activities across NPI, CPI and New Source Introduction (NSI) projects.

Working closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams, you will help ensure components meet quality, cost and delivery targets, supporting projects from supplier selection through APQP and PPAP.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project plans, milestones, risks and resources.
• Coordinate Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Procurement teams.
• Work with suppliers and buyers on quotations, sourcing and supplier selection.
• Support APQP projects through to PPAP approval.
• Identify and resolve supplier quality and supply chain risks.
• Support product sourcing and supply strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement across the supplier base.

Skills & Experience

• Experience within supplier quality, manufacturing or component engineering.
• Strong project management skills.
• Knowledge of APQP and PPAP.
• Understanding of procurement and supply chain processes.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Confident working with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Degree or equivalent relevant experience desirable.

Ideal Candidate

You will ideally have hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment, managing supplier quality and projects from initial concept through to production. Experience with APQP, PPAP, supplier development and sourcing would be particularly beneficial.
