Hays are working exclusively with a growing organisation to recruit an experienced Management Accountant on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive finance team in a varied role where you will play an important part in financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, while providing meaningful financial information to support business decisions.The role is offered c30 hours per week, with flexibility around how these hours are worked.

Your new role

As Management Accountant, you will take responsibility for a broad range of management accounting and financial reporting duties, including:

• Preparing monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
• Managing month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and intercompany accounting.
• Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
• Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process and working closely with key stakeholders across the organisation.
• Analysing financial performance against budgets, forecasts and previous periods, providing clear commentary on variances.
• Working with operational and departmental managers to provide financial information and improve understanding of business performance.
• Supporting year-end processes, audit requirements and statutory reporting.
• Maintaining strong financial controls and identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting.
• Providing ad hoc financial analysis, modelling and support to senior management as required.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced Management Accountant who is qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), part-qualified or qualified by experience, with a strong background in management accounting.
You will also have:

• Strong experience of monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Good knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
• The ability to communicate financial information confidently to both finance and non-finance colleagues.
• A commercial approach with the confidence to challenge and influence where appropriate.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience of accounting or ERP systems.
