Bank Patient Support Porter | Theatres | Spire Murrayfield - Edinburgh | Bank | Weekly pay Spire Murrayfield Hospital is looking to recruit a Patient Support Porter to join their fantastic Theatre team on a bank basis. Duties and Responsibilities: - Correctly undertake tasks that have been delegated in relation to specific patients as agreed with the care team - Prepare patient, equipment and materials appropriately - Obtain consent from patients before starting the tasks e.g. moving and handling, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times - Moving patient from bed to trolley; trolley to operating table; operating table to trolley; trolley to bed - Identify and report to an appropriate person any significant changes that might affect the patient's health and well-being during escort duties and moving/handling - Respect patients' privacy, dignity, wishes and beliefs and minimise any necessary discomfort - Record information related to designated tasks and activities accurately and passes it on to the relevant person in the team on time - Liaise with the theatre team regarding the organisation of theatre lists - Provide patient support within the anaesthetic room - Ensure moving and handling equipment is clean and in safe working order - Ensure table attachments are clean and in working order - Transport safely and timely specimens from theatre to the designated area, recording legibly and accurately necessary details - Transport equipment as delegated by the theatre teamWho we're looking for: - General portering abilities - Infection control knowledge - Health and safety knowledge - Customer facing experienceBenefits: - Bank colleagues are paid weekly - We offer competitive rates to our bank colleagues who work on a flexible basis, often to cover busy periods, sickness, or annual leave - Save an average of £50 per month with our free onsite car park - Access to Spire Healthcare pension - Access to Blue Light Card discounts - Free uniform - Free DBS - Full induction, including mandatory training updates - Opportunities for further training and progression into permanent posts - Knowledge, support and guidance through your recruitment journey from Spire's specialist Resourcing TeamWe commit to our employees well-being through work life balance, on-going development, support and reward.
