I am very excited to be partnering with one of our leading Law Firm clients who are seeking an experienced Revenue Controller to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders, manage the full revenue cycle and contribute to the financial performance of a highly successful business.

As a trusted member of the finance function, you will partner with fee earners, business leaders and operational teams to optimise working capital performance, drive efficient billing practices and support the management of WIP and debt. This role offers significant stakeholder exposure and the chance to develop within a collaborative and commercially focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end revenue cycle, providing guidance on billing, WIP management, cash collection and financial performance.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, helping to improve fee management, billing efficiency and cash flow.
  • Support the timely resolution of billing issues, ensuring revenue targets and service standards are achieved.
  • Review engagement terms and billing requirements, identifying potential issues and implementing solutions early in the process.
  • Drive debt recovery activities, working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve overdue balances.
  • Investigate and resolve e-billing queries and rejections, implementing measures to reduce recurring issues.
  • Produce accurate WIP and debtor reporting, providing insights and recommendations to support financial performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve revenue processes, controls and client service standards.

About You:

  • At least two years' experience within a professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of the working capital cycle, including WIP, billing and debt management.
  • Previous experience within a legal or professional services finance function is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of VAT and associated compliance requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and provide practical recommendations.
  • Proactive, organised and able to manage competing priorities effectively.
