Mechanical Supervisor - HVAC & Ductwork | Commercial Fit-Out Location: Holborn, Central London Rate: £320-£340 per day (Outside IR35) Contract: 12 Months Sector: M&E / Building Services Project: Commercial Fit-Out The Opportunity We are recruiting on behalf of an established M&E contractor looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Supervisor for a commercial fit-out project in Holborn, Central London. This is a 12-month contract paying £320-£340 per day Outside IR35, requiring a Mechanical Supervisor with a strong background in HVAC, ventilation and ductwork installations, ideally gained on commercial CAT A / CAT B fit-out projects. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of mechanical works, managing specialist subcontractors and ensuring installations are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards. The Role As Mechanical Supervisor, you will work closely with the Mechanical Project Manager and wider MEP team, overseeing the installation and coordination of HVAC and ductwork systems throughout the commercial fit-out. The role will suit someone who has progressed from a hands-on ductwork or HVAC installation background into site supervision and is comfortable managing labour, coordinating multiple trades and resolving technical issues on site. Key Responsibilities Supervise HVAC, ventilation and ductwork installations across a commercial fit-out project Manage ductwork installers, mechanical operatives and specialist subcontractors Oversee installation of ductwork, air handling units, ventilation systems and associated mechanical services Coordinate daily site activities and allocate labour effectively Monitor progress against programme and key milestones Ensure installations are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications Coordinate HVAC works with electrical, fire protection and other building services trades Review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work are followed Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks Maintain high standards of Health & Safety Monitor installation quality and manage QA inspections Identify and resolve technical or coordination issues Coordinate materials, deliveries and site logistics Attend site coordination and progress meetings Manage snagging and outstanding installation works Support testing, commissioning and final handover Requirements Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor within M&E / Building Services Strong HVAC, ventilation and ductwork background - essential Commercial CAT A / CAT B fit-out experience highly desirable Previous hands-on ductwork installation experience advantageous Experience managing mechanical labour and specialist subcontractors Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications Strong understanding of installation sequencing and coordination Good Health & Safety knowledge Strong communication and organisational skills SSSTS or SMSTS Valid CSCS or relevant trade competency card Relevant mechanical or HVAC qualifications advantageous What's on Offer £320-£340 per day Outside IR35 12-month contract Commercial fit-out project Holborn, Central London Established M&E contractor Opportunity to oversee a substantial HVAC and ductwork installation package Potential for further work following project completion Apply If you're an experienced Mechanical Supervisor with a strong HVAC / ductwork background and previous commercial fit-out experience, we'd be keen to hear from you.
