Management Accountant
Location: North Wales (Office-based)
Salary: £38,000 - £44,000 + excellent benefits
Full Time | Permanent
Looking for a role where you can genuinely make an impact?
We're a growing multi-site business looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys getting stuck into the detail, improving processes and helping shape a finance function as the business continues to grow.
Working closely with the Finance Director and a small, supportive finance team, you'll take ownership of several group entities, helping bring accounting processes in-house and ensuring accurate, reliable financial reporting across the group.
This isn't a role where you'll simply maintain the status quo. You'll have the chance to improve systems, streamline processes and play a key part in future projects, acquisitions and business growth.
What you'll be doing
- Producing monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Managing journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and month-end processes.
- Bringing financial reporting for smaller group entities in-house and establishing robust accounting procedures.
- Maintaining fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Managing intercompany reconciliations across multiple entities.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning.
- Investigating discrepancies and ensuring financial information is accurate and fully supported.
- Providing meaningful analysis and commentary to support business decision-making.
- Assisting with finance improvement projects, automation initiatives and new business integrations.
- Supporting year-end processes and liaising with external advisers where required.
- Working closely with colleagues to improve controls, reporting and efficiency.
What we're looking for
You'll be someone who enjoys ownership and accountability, can work independently and likes solving problems rather than simply highlighting them.
We'd love to hear from candidates who have:
- Previous management accounting experience.
- AAT qualification, ACCA/CIMA studies, full qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong month-end and balance sheet reconciliation experience.
- Experience with budgets, forecasts and financial reporting.
- Good Excel and accounting systems knowledge.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Confidence communicating with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
It would be great if you also have
- Experience working across multiple legal entities.
- Intercompany accounting experience.
- Sage 50 or Sage 200 knowledge.
- Exposure to process improvement or finance transformation projects.
- Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations or business growth initiatives.
What you'll get in return
- Salary of £38,000 - £44,000 depending on experience.
- Supportive and collaborative finance team.
- Modern office environment with free refreshments.
- Free on-site parking.
- 28 days holiday, increasing with service.
- Additional leave over the Christmas period.
- Annual salary reviews.
- Training and development opportunities.
- Paid sick leave.
- Company social events throughout the year.
- Cycle to Work scheme and additional employee benefits.
