The Company

Our client is a large, long-established, specialist manufacturing business operating within a fast-paced environment. With a strong order book and a prestigious, high-expectation customer base, the company is well positioned for continued success. Significant ongoing investment in manufacturing facilities demonstrates the organisation's commitment to quality, innovation, and operational excellence. This forward-thinking approach is expected to support further growth and create genuine long-term career development opportunities for ambitious finance professionals.

The Role

Working closely with the Financial Controller, this broad and varied role offers excellent exposure across the finance function and wider business, combining strong financial reporting and control with meaningful commercial involvement. A key responsibility will be maintaining the integrity of the Balance Sheet, ensuring all accounts are fully reconciled, accurate and supported by clear explanations of movements and variances. The role will also involve supporting budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and the preparation of monthly management accounts, alongside providing manufacturing and operational analysis, including production variances, gross margins and performance trends. The successful candidate will play an important role in identifying opportunities to improve profitability, enhance operational efficiency and support informed commercial decision-making across the business.

The Person

The successful candidate will be an experienced, commercially minded and "hands-on" finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will bring a broad background in management and financial accounting, alongside a genuine interest in manufacturing operations and business performance. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to build effective relationships across the business and present financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial colleagues. You will demonstrate a proactive, can-do attitude, a collaborative approach to business partnering and a willingness to get involved in the detail, whilst also contributing to wider commercial decision-making, operational improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
