Academics are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work in an Alternative Provision in High Wycombe, supporting young people who may struggle to engage in mainstream education due to social, emotional and behavioural challenges.

The Role - Teaching Assistant, High Wycombe

• Support pupils who display challenging behaviours and need additional guidance to engage with learning.
• Use your sporting background, teamwork and communication skills to build positive relationships with young people.
• Encourage participation through physical activities, sports and practical learning wherever appropriate.
• Help pupils develop confidence, resilience, self-regulation and positive behaviour.
• Work alongside experienced staff to create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.

Who Would Suit This Role?

We're particularly interested in candidates with backgrounds in sports coaching, PE, fitness, youth work or other active, hands-on roles. You don't necessarily need previous school experience, but you must be confident, patient, resilient and willing to learn.

Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours would be beneficial.
