Financial Accounting Manager
£57,000 to £63,385 + MS

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accounting Manager to join a large and complex public sector organisation.This is a key role within the finance team, taking responsibility for the financial accounting function and ensuring the accuracy, integrity and quality of financial reporting.The role
As Financial Accounting Manager, you will:

• Lead, manage and develop the financial accounting team.
• Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, financial regulations and internal controls.
• Develop and maintain robust accounting policies, procedures and controls.
• Provide high-quality technical accounting advice, analysis and support.
• Work closely with finance colleagues and services across the organisation.
• Support improvements to finance systems, processes and reporting.
• Help ensure financial information is accurate, consistent and delivered to a high professional standard.
• Contribute to wider strategic financial decision-making and continuous improvement across Finance.

What you'll need to succeed

We are looking for someone with strong technical financial accounting experience who can combine attention to detail with effective leadership and stakeholder management.Ideally, you will bring:

• Significant financial accounting experience within a large or complex organisation.
• A professional accounting qualification such as CIPFA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent experience
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, regulations and best practice.
• Experience of statutory accounts and financial reporting.
• Experience of leading, motivating and developing a finance team.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate it clearly.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• A commitment to improving financial processes, controls and reporting.
