Location: Sheffield initially, with a permanent office in Rotherham or Doncaster
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a growing construction management business seeking an organised, proactive and commercially minded Office Manager to take ownership of its business support and operational administration.
This is a varied, hands-on role offering the opportunity to make a real impact within a growing business. You will be responsible for ensuring the systems, processes, compliance and administration that underpin the business operate efficiently, supporting both project delivery and wider business operations.
This is not simply a traditional office administration role. We are looking for someone who can work independently, take ownership, anticipate what needs to be done and continuously improve how things are done.
If you enjoy bringing structure to a business, managing a varied workload and taking responsibility for keeping operations running smoothly, this could be an excellent opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of office administration, business support systems and operational processes.
Coordinate training, competency records and bookings, subcontractor compliance, insurance documentation and PQQ reviews.
Manage employee onboarding, inductions and offboarding, ensuring records and actions are kept up to date.
Maintain business systems and ensure information is accurate, accessible and well organised.
Support health and safety administration, including incident records, audits and communications.
Maintain project documentation, drawings, reports, dashboards and management information.
Coordinate diaries, shared mailboxes, travel, accommodation, company assets, workwear and office and site supplies.
Support the company's business profile through social media updates and maintaining its online capability document.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, streamline administration and introduce consistent ways of working.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience in office management, business support or administration.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
A proactive approach, with the confidence to work independently and take ownership.
An understanding of compliance, document control and record management.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with colleagues and external contacts at all levels.
A high level of accuracy, discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
A practical, solutions-focused mindset and a genuine interest in improving business processes.
Experience within the construction sector would be highly advantageous, particularly in relation to project documentation, subcontractor compliance and health and safety administration.
Construction related background or knowledge a distinct advantage
Salary & Working Arrangements
Salary of up to £42,000 per annum.
Full-time, permanent position.
Initially based between a Sheffield city centre office and home.
Permanent office location to be established in either Rotherham or Doncaster.
The business is currently in the process of establishing its new office, which will become the successful candidate's permanent working location.
Until the new premises are ready, the role will involve working between the Sheffield city centre office and home. Once the new office opens, the role will be fully office-based, with no ongoing hybrid working arrangement.
Candidates must be comfortable with the temporary working arrangement and the subsequent move to the permanent office in Rotherham or Doncaster.
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to join a growing construction management business in a key position where your organisation, initiative and ideas will make a tangible difference.
You will have the opportunity to take ownership of the office management function, improve existing processes and help establish the structure and consistency needed to support continued growth.
If you are an experienced Office Manager looking for a varied role with genuine responsibility and the opportunity to make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
