This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with young people who is looking to develop their experience within a secondary school environment. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the absence of their usual teacher, ensuring pupils remain engaged and focused on their learning. The Role As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities may include: * Supervising pupils across different subjects and year groups * Delivering pre-prepared work provided by teaching staff * Maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment * Managing behaviour in line with school policies * Supporting pupils with their learning where appropriate * Taking attendance and maintaining accurate records * Ensuring pupils follow classroom expectations * Reporting any concerns or issues to the appropriate member of staff * Supporting the wider school team when required * Following safeguarding and school procedures What We're Looking For We're keen to hear from candidates who have: * Experience working with children or young people * Strong classroom or behaviour management skills * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * A confident and professional manner * The ability to build positive relationships with pupils * The ability to manage a classroom independently * A calm and consistent approach to behaviour * The ability to adapt quickly to different subjects and classes * A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Tutor or within a secondary school environment would be desirable.
