Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a Year 6 classroom? A welcoming primary school in the Saltley area of Birmingham is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils during a crucial stage of their primary education. Working closely with the class teacher, you will help pupils prepare for their SATs, build confidence in their learning, and ensure they are fully supported as they approach the transition to secondary school.

The Role

As a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support teaching and learning across the Year 6 classroom.
• Provide targeted interventions in English and Maths to help pupils achieve their full potential.
• Assist with SATs preparation and revision activities.
• Support small groups and individual pupils with their academic progress.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement within lessons.
• Help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider school staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.

Requirements

The successful candidate will:

• Have previous experience working with children in a school setting.
• Be confident supporting pupils in Key Stage 2, ideally within upper KS2.
• Have a patient, positive and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Be committed to helping pupils succeed during their final year of primary education.
• Hold a childcare or teaching assistant qualification, although this is desirable rather than essential.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
