Financial Accountant

Are you a hands-on accountant looking for an interesting and varied role across the hospitality, aviation and estate management sectors?

Due to retirement, we are looking to recruit a Financial Accountant to join our small team at Sywell Aerodrome in the New Year.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the financial functions of three companies: Sywell Aerodrome Limited, Sywell Aviation Limited and The Aviator Hotel Limited. The role offers a varied workload, ranging from checking hotel till floats and reconciling daily sales to preparing monthly group management accounts, cash flow projections and forecasts.

The successful candidate will be ACA qualified or hold an equivalent qualification, with practical, hands-on accounting experience.

Our current systems include Excel, Sage 50 Accounts and Sage 50 Payroll. Training will be provided on other software used within the group, including RedAtlas, Rezcontrol, Decorus and Inform Direct.

Responsibilities include:

• Daily reconciliation of sales at the hotel and control tower
• Daily bank reconciliations for all three companies
• Production of monthly invoices for hangarage and landing fees for residents
• Production of monthly rent invoices
• Collection of Direct Debits and credit control
• Payment of suppliers
• Manage payroll, PAYE and pensions including ensuring the company is up to date with legislation
• Monthly reconciliation of fuel sales to stock movements
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Preparation of VAT returns
• Liase with external auditors
• Liase with broker for energy contracts
• Company secretarial for all three companies including payment of dividends and filing of Confirmation statements
