HGV Class 1 Driver – Wakefield, West Yorkshire

People Solutions are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our well-established client based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £17.15 per hour, Monday to Friday working, ongoing work, weekly pay and genuine temp-to-perm opportunities within a reputable logistics operation.

This position is ideal for applicants who have previously worked as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category C+E Driver, Articulated Lorry Driver or Class 1 Trunking Driver.

Shifts

• Monday to Friday
• Start times between 04:00–07:00 or 12:00–16:00

Rates of Pay

• £17.15 per hour – basic rate

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:

• Completing depot-to-depot trunking routes and trailer swaps
• Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all loads are secured safely and correctly
• Adhering to road traffic legislation, company procedures and delivery schedules

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence
• Minimum two years' Class 1 driving experience
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
• Valid Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• Good spoken and written English

Desirable Experience

• Previous commercial driving experience

Training Provided

• Driver assessment required prior to starting
• Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
