mbf are working with one of the UK's leading Wealth Management organisations to recruit an experienced Paraplanning Team Leader for their growing Financial Planning division in the City of London.

Our client is a highly regarded, well-established Wealth Management business that has experienced significant growth through strategic acquisitions and continued investment in its Financial Planning offering.

This is an excellent opportunity to join the business at an exciting stage of its development, taking responsibility for an established team of 8 Paraplanners and reporting directly to the UK Head of Paraplanning.

The position offers an excellent combination of technical Paraplanning, people management and operational responsibilities, with genuine scope to influence the continued development of the function.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor and develop a team of 8 Paraplanners, ensuring consistently high standards of technical support.
• Oversee team workflow, allocating and prioritising workloads to ensure deadlines and service standards are maintained.
• Work closely with the UK Head of Paraplanning to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews and support individual training and career development.
• Provide technical guidance and support on complex Financial Planning cases, including pensions, investments, protection and tax planning.
• Maintain a hands-on involvement in technical research, cashflow modelling and suitability report preparation.
• Work collaboratively with Wealth Planners and other departments to ensure excellent client outcomes.
• Promote a positive, collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Candidate Requirements

We are keen to speak with experienced Paraplanning professionals who have a strong technical background and an interest in developing their careers within a leadership capacity.

Ideally, candidates will demonstrate:

• Significant experience working as a Paraplanner or Senior Paraplanner within a Financial Planning or Wealth Management environment.
• Previous team leadership, supervisory or management experience would be advantageous.
• Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, protection and more complex Financial Planning arrangements.
• Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent) as a minimum.
• Chartered status, or progress towards achieving it, would be desirable.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to motivate, mentor and develop colleagues whilst maintaining high technical standards.
• Experience using Xplan and cashflow modelling software would be beneficial.

Importantly, our client would also consider an ambitious Senior Paraplanner who demonstrates the necessary leadership qualities and is looking to take their first significant step into people management.
