Forefront Ltd is a specialist business operating within the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry, with a particular focus on air handling units (AHUs).

Our core services include:

• On-site AHU refurbishments
• Bespoke flat-pack AHU replacements

We are now seeking a sales-motivated and technically minded individual to develop into a self-sufficient Technical Sales professional.

Why the Position Is Available

Following the formation of the company in 2013 by three partners, the current Technical Sales Director is now preparing for retirement.

This creates an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to step into a valuable role within the business and develop over time with full support, guidance and training.

The Candidate We Are Looking For

The successful candidate should have:

• Their own vehicle and a clean driving licence
• Sales experience would be preferrable
• Demonstrable mechanical or electrical engineering experience
• Engineering and technical problem-solving skills
• Practical hands-on engineering experience
• Good numeracy skills
• A professional and presentable manner
• Clear and confident communication skills

• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Interested in building a long-term career in technical sales

Training and Development Path

This is a development role with a clear progression route. The successful candidate will gain practical experience across different areas of the business before moving towards a fully self-sufficient Technical Sales role.

Training may include:

• Assisting with site installations to understand the working environment
• Attending site audits with experienced team members
• Spending time in the workshop to understand AHU construction
• Gaining site installation experience to understand the products and services we offer
• Learning how we assess, approach and deliver projects
• Supporting marketing activity through our customer database and email campaigns
• Developing sales skills, including following up quotes and warm calling
• Receiving one-to-one technical training
• Receiving one-to-one quoting and estimating training
• Gradually carrying out site audits independently, starting with straightforward projects and progressing to more complex works
• Preparing and quoting your own projects over time

The medium to long-term aim is for the successful candidate to progress into a confident, capable and self-sufficient Technical Sales professional who can deliver technical solutions to clients and generate new sales opportunities.

Remuneration and Progression

The package includes:

• Starting salary of £35,000–£45,000, depending on experience
• Salary reviews every six months, with increases linked to agreed goals and development milestones
• Potential to earn commission
• Potential opportunity to acquire shares in the business after two years
