We're working with an established, successful business based in Hemel Hempstead looking for a commercially minded and analytical individual to support its commercial finance team on a 12 month FTC. This is a broad role with exposure across pricing, promotions, stock, logistics costs and business reporting, working closely with teams throughout the organisation.

This part-time role will be 5 mornings a week or 4 slightly longer days. We are looking at around 20 hours a week.

The role

You'll play an important part in supporting the commercial finance function, taking ownership of a range of activities including:

• Maintaining and reviewing customer pricing structures, including bespoke pricing arrangements and ad-hoc deals.
• Coding invoices and ensuring all information is correct
• Reviewing regional and on-trade promotions, analysing their effectiveness and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Analysing stock positions and supporting initiatives to minimise losses through provisions, offers and clearance activity.
• Reviewing logistics rates, analysing invoices and accruals, and supporting standard cost setting.
• Maintaining product and pricing data, challenging inaccuracies and ensuring information is reliable.
• Supporting customer commercial audits and analysing purchasing, packaging and other business data.
• Loading pricing information onto customer procurement platforms.
• Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and reporting.
• Working collaboratively with Finance, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Logistics to support the wider business.

About you

You'll bring experience in a commercial finance, pricing or analytical role, with the confidence to work independently, manage competing priorities and take a proactive approach to problem-solving.

You'll be commercially aware, highly organised and comfortable working with detailed data, identifying discrepancies and challenging information where necessary. Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP, are essential, alongside the ability to communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance colleagues.

You'll also enjoy understanding how a business operates beyond the numbers, building relationships across departments and looking for practical ways to improve processes.

An accountancy qualification or relevant studies would be beneficial but aren't essential.
