Are you an experienced Year 6 teacher with a proven track record and experience preparing pupils for SATs?

Academics are working with a primary school in the London Borough of Bexley to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Year 6 Class Teacher for January 2027.

The successful candidate will take full class teacher responsibility, leading teaching and learning throughout the spring and summer terms, including preparing pupils for their end-of-Key-Stage-2 SATs.

The Role:

• Full-time Year 6 Class Teacher from January to July 2027.
• Full responsibility for planning, preparation, assessment and reporting.
• Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
• Prepare pupils effectively for Year 6 SATs, identifying gaps in learning and implementing targeted interventions.
• Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet a range of abilities and learning needs.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement and classroom management.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, senior leaders and parents to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Help ensure pupils are confident and well prepared for their transition to secondary school.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Holds UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Has proven Year 6 teaching experience.
• Has essential SATs preparation and assessment experience.
• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge in Key Stage 2 English and mathematics.
• Is confident using assessment data to inform planning and raise attainment.
• Has high expectations and can motivate pupils of differing abilities.
• Is organised, proactive and committed to providing high-quality teaching.
• Works effectively as part of a team and contributes positively to the wider school community.
