A modern, independent Financial Planning business based in North London is looking for an experienced Financial Adviser to take over a substantial client bank.

You'll inherit a sizeable portfolio of clients and assets under management, while having the support and leads to continue growing it, giving you an established recurring income base from day one. Alongside looking after these relationships, there is plenty of scope to generate new business, with warm leads coming through the wider group and client services teams, as well as marketing-generated enquiries.

The role is split between servicing existing clients and developing new business, with administrative and paraplanning support in place to help with client reviews and report writing. You'll work closely with a Senior Adviser and the wider team, allowing you to focus on advising clients, building relationships and growing your portfolio.

The client base is varied, with a strong focus on business owners, pre-retirees and retirees. Advice needs cover investments, pensions, protection, retirement planning and wider wealth management, including helping business owners plan for their financial future.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop an established portfolio of approximately 90 clients.
  • Provide ongoing financial planning advice, including investment, pension, protection and retirement planning.
  • Identify opportunities to generate additional business from existing client relationships.
  • Convert warm leads and develop new client relationships through the wider group and your own network.
  • Build relationships with business owners and individuals, helping them achieve their financial goals.
  • Work alongside the Senior Adviser and support team to deliver a high standard of client service.

What we're looking for:

  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning and Competent Adviser Status (CAS).
  • At least a few years of experience as a Financial Adviser.
  • Good all-round knowledge of pensions, investments and protection.
  • Experience advising business owners, including knowledge of SIPPs and SSASs, would be beneficial.
  • An interest in business development and the ability to build long-term client relationships.

Salary and benefits:

  • Basic salary up to £60,000, depending on experience.
  • Bonus scheme based on initial and ongoing fees
  • Private medical insurance and group life insurance.

Working arrangements:

The standard pattern is four days in the office and Fridays working from home, although there is flexibility to spend time meeting clients and prospective clients. Most meetings take place via Microsoft Teams, with occasional visits to clients' homes and business premises.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Adviser who wants an established portfolio to build from, a strong flow of leads and the opportunity to increase their earnings through growing their client bank.
