This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging software where performance, precision and reliability are critical. You'll be joining a team developing a core platform from the ground up, with the freedom to influence architectural decisions, tackle complex engineering problems and contribute directly to the quality of the finished product.
Write C++ that turns streams of visual data into precise, low-latency output. Our client is building the next generation of its core platform, which brings together image processing, computer vision and graphics. They want a senior engineer to help shape its architecture and solve hard performance problems.
What you’ll do
* Design and optimise multi-threaded C++ pipelines for image processing, vision and rendering.
* Develop and tune algorithms for spatial analysis, sensor alignment and scene reconstruction.
* Use parallel computing and GPU acceleration to meet strict performance targets.
* Build portable, cross-platform software for production use.
* Influence architecture, review code and help raise engineering standards.
* Take a turn on the support rota, diagnosing production issues and shipping well-tested fixes.
What you’ll bring
Essential
* Strong modern C++ (C++17 or later).
* Multi-threaded programming, profiling and performance optimisation.
* Solid grounding in algorithms, data structures and software design.
* Experience shipping cross-platform software.
* Git, CMake, automated testing and CI.
Desirable
* OpenCV, Eigen, Ceres or similar numerical and vision libraries.
* GPU computing or graphics APIs.
* Video processing or codec experience.
* Linear algebra, geometry or 3D vision.
* Conan or another C++ package manager.
* Background in simulation, gaming, imaging or other performance-critical software.
