Our clients range from small and medium-sized enterprises to high-consuming corporate businesses and public sector organisations, and we cover gas and electricity purchasing, energy management, water rebates and R&D tax rebates.

Our aim is to save clients time, effort and money, and to explain the energy market without confusing jargon. IUA lists a wide range of UK energy suppliers as partners, including British Gas, Scottish Power, SSE and E.ON.

Flexible energy purchasing is an area where the Independent Utility Advice (IUA) has a wealth of experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Energy Trader you’ll assess wholesale gas and electricity prices and support the execution of purchasing strategies in line with each client’s mandate. To do that, you’ll interpret market research, pricing data, forward curves, supply and demand fundamentals and wider economic developments.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in energy trading, flexible procurement, wholesale market analysis or a closely related role
  • Sound knowledge of UK gas and electricity markets, including key price drivers and trading risks
  • The ability to interpret quantitative market information and turn your analysis into practical recommendations
  • Strong Excel, numerical analysis, attention to detail and written communication skills
  • Desirable: an understanding of hedging, forward purchasing and client risk appetite

What’s On Offer

  • Private healthcare
  • A paid day off on your birthday
  • 50% discount on LNER train travel, plus hotel and restaurant discounts
  • Cycle to Work Scheme and Tech Scheme
