Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable visitor experiences?

We are seeking a friendly, professional and customer-focused Visitor Services Officer to join the team at Guildhall Art Gallery. This is an exciting opportunity to work within one of London's most unique cultural destinations, helping visitors make the most of their experience while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the Gallery and City Information Centre.

This varied role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, providing information and delivering excellent service within a busy visitor-facing environment.

The Role

As a Visitor Services Officer, you will be one of the first points of contact for visitors, providing a warm welcome and ensuring a positive experience from arrival through to departure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Greeting visitors and providing accurate information about the Gallery, exhibitions, events and the wider City of London visitor offer
  • Supporting the day-to-day operation of the Guildhall Art Gallery Welcome Desk and Shop, as well as the City Information Centre
  • Assisting with retail sales, ticket transactions and customer enquiries
  • Maintaining attractive displays of retail products, promotional materials and visitor information
  • Undertaking cash handling duties and ensuring accurate daily reconciliation procedures
  • Assisting with opening and closing procedures as required
  • Supporting the security and safe operation of the building and its facilities
  • Helping to maintain a welcoming, organised and professional environment for visitors and colleagues
  • Using a range of traditional and digital resources to support visitor enquiries and service delivery

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual with excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to customer service.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, such as visitor services, retail, hospitality, tourism, leisure, culture or heritage
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A professional, approachable and helpful manner
  • Experience handling cash and processing transactions
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence working independently and taking responsibility for operational tasks
  • Good IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • The flexibility to work occasional weekends and bank holidays as part of a seven-day operation

An interest in arts, culture, heritage or visitor attractions would be advantageous but is not essential.
