You'll be joining a boutique Building Services consultancy at a genuinely exciting stage of its growth, following the recent launch of its Birmingham office.The business has been established by an experienced Director who has previously been involved in setting up and growing successful consultancies, bringing that experience into a new Birmingham venture.They work on a varied portfolio of detailed design projects, ranging from high-end luxury spas and leisure schemes to education developments and commercial office buildings.With the Birmingham operation still at an early stage, this is an opportunity to join a growing consultancy where you can have a genuine impact on the business as it develops.Your new role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll take a hands-on role in the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects.The company is open-minded on level and will consider applicants from a strong Intermediate Engineer through to Senior, Principal or Associate level.For more senior applicants, this will still be a technically involved position. You'll need to enjoy being close to the design work rather than looking for a purely managerial role.Your responsibilities will include:

• Mechanical Building Services design and detailed design
• Working across a varied portfolio of high-end and commercial projects
• Producing and reviewing technical designs, drawings and specifications
• Working with AutoCAD and within a Revit environment
• Liaising with clients and other members of the wider design team
• Supporting projects throughout design and delivery
• Playing a part in the continued development of the Birmingham office

Much of the Revit production is currently outsourced, so this isn't a role where you'll spend all day modelling. The focus is on your mechanical engineering and design capability.What you'll need to succeed
You'll have experience in Mechanical Building Services design, ideally gained within a consultancy environment, and be comfortable taking responsibility for technical design.Applications are welcomed from individuals operating anywhere from a strong Intermediate through to Associate level, provided you're keen to remain hands-on with mechanical design.For someone more experienced, there is the added attraction of joining a business at an early stage of its Birmingham growth and potentially taking on greater responsibility as the office develops.What you'll get in return
