I’m an adult gentleman who lives independently in my own home in Haverfordwest. I have acquired a brain injury following a road traffic accident and I experience difficulties with fatigue, anxiety and ongoing physical symptoms which can affect my day-to-day activities.
I would benefit from a Support Worker who is calm, patient, reliable and consistent. It is important that the successful candidate takes time to build a positive working relationship with me and understands the impact my injuries and symptoms can have on my daily life.
The role will involve providing practical support around the home, including household tasks and cleaning, as well as supporting me to access the community and attend the gym. You will play a key part in encouraging independence and helping me maintain a routine, whilst working towards my rehabilitation goals.
The successful candidate will work alongside the Case Manager and professionals involved in my rehabilitation. You will be expected to follow recommendations from the multidisciplinary team and provide feedback regarding my progress, alongside any concerns and/or changes in my presentation.
It is important that the successful individual is involved in decisions about my support and demonstrates respect surrounding my choices and independence. The successful candidate should be able to provide encouragement and motivation without applying unnecessary pressure.
This role is subject to an enhanced level DBS check. Full induction and training will be provided.
