Warehouse Operative - Days - Swan Valley, Northampton (NN4)

People Solutions are currently recruiting for Warehouse Operatives to join our well-established client based at GXO, Saxon Avenue, Northampton on a full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, regular overtime opportunities, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for long-term employment and progression within a reputable logistics operation.

This would suit applicants who have worked as a Picker Packer, Parcel Sorter, Warehouse Operative or Despatch Operative.

Rates of Pay:

Rates apply from 04/10/2026 to 02/01/2027

Day Shifts

• £14.38 per hour basic
• £21.57 per hour overtime

Night Shifts

• £15.88 per hour basic
• £23.07 per hour overtime

Overtime is paid once contracted hours have been completed:

• 37.5 hours for any 5 out of 7 shift patterns
• 34.5 hours or 46 hours for 4 on 4 off rotation shifts, depending on the working week

Shift Pattern:

Available Day Shifts

• 06:00 - 14:00, 5 out of 7 days
• 08:00 - 16:00, 5 out of 7 days
• 14:00 - 22:00, 5 out of 7 days
• 06:00 - 18:00, 4 on 4 off
• 07:00 - 19:00, 4 on 4 off
• 10:00 - 22:00, 4 on 4 off

Available Night Shifts

• 18:00 - 02:30, 5 out of 7 days
• 22:00 - 06:00, 5 out of 7 days
• 18:00 - 06:00, 4 on 4 off
• 19:00 - 07:00, 4 on 4 off

Please note that shift allocations are subject to availability. Candidates must be flexible and available to work any required days within their chosen shift pattern.

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as a Warehouse Operative are:

• Picking customer orders
• Packing products for dispatch
• Parcel sorting
• Despatch duties
• Moving stock throughout the warehouse
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
• Following site health and safety procedures
• Working as part of a busy warehouse team to achieve operational targets

Essential Skills:

To be successful as a Warehouse Operative, you will need:

• Basic English communication skills
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Reliable with good timekeeping
• Previous warehouse experience would be beneficial but is not essential
• Must be aged 18 or over due to health and safety requirements
• Able to commit to full-time work and flexible shift patterns

Training:

• Full training provided
• Paid site induction completed before starting work
• Ongoing support throughout your assignment
