English Lecturer - GCSE and Functional Skills

• Salary: £33,429 to £46,618 per annum, including London Weighting (pro rata for part-time posts)
• Job Type: Full-time & Part-time Available

We are seeking to appoint English Lecturers, either part-time or full-time, to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills English within our cross-College provision. This role primarily targets vocational learners aged 16-18, along with a growing number of part-time adult learners.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Deliver engaging and effective English lessons to vocational learners aged 16-18, as well as adult learners, ensuring high levels of student achievement.
• Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials that cater to different learning styles and needs.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure content is current and relevant.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and strategies for engaging and motivating resit learners.
• Support students in their development and help them progress onto higher courses or into the workplace.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A degree in English or a related subject.
• Experience in teaching or tutoring English GCSE and/or Functional Skills.
• Strong ability to engage and enthuse students aged 16 to 18 from various vocational disciplines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
