An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Sales Manager to take commercial ownership of the Irish market for a leading global industrial manufacturing business.

With responsibility across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, this is a broad commercial leadership role combining sales strategy, business development, customer engagement and commercial transformation.

Reporting directly to the UK Managing Director, you will be responsible for delivering sustainable growth across the region, developing the sales function and maintaining a strong focus on customers, new opportunities and market development.

Alongside driving sales performance, you will play an important role in evolving the commercial function, strengthening sales processes, forecasting, CRM utilisation, tender management and the overall customer experience.

The Role

  • Take ownership of the sales and business development strategy across Ireland, identifying opportunities to grow market share, develop key accounts and generate new business.
  • Work with customers across medical, aerospace, automotive, precision engineering and general manufacturing, leading a consultative, value-led approach to sales.
  • Provide leadership and commercial direction across the regional sales function, supporting performance, capability and customer engagement.
  • Establish clear commercial priorities and promote a culture focused on sustainable growth and continuous improvement.
  • Support the organisation's ongoing commercial transformation, working with senior leadership and colleagues across Marketing, Operations, Customer Service and Technical Support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the sales strategy for the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland in line with wider business objectives.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and commercial direction across the regional sales function.
  • Drive new business development while increasing revenue and profitability within existing strategic accounts.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, distributors and commercial partners through a consultative, solution-led approach.
  • Manage sales pipelines, forecasts, KPIs and commercial performance, using data to identify opportunities and support decision-making.
  • Improve CRM utilisation, sales processes, account planning, tender management and forecasting.
  • Play a key role in commercial transformation and sales excellence initiatives.
  • Partner with Marketing, Operations, Customer Service and Technical teams to strengthen customer experience and commercial delivery.
  • Manage regional sales budgets, commercial expenditure, customer trials and demonstrations.
  • Support appropriate governance of the Irish business, including corporate policies, regulatory requirements and health and safety standards.
  • Represent the organisation with customers, distributors and other key external stakeholders.

About You

  • You will be an established B2B sales leader with strong commercial instincts and the ability to develop business, build relationships and positively influence others.
  • Ideally, your background will be within industrial manufacturing, engineering, machining, tooling, machine tools or another technically led B2B environment. Direct sector experience would be advantageous, but equally important is your ability to understand complex customer requirements and develop value-led solutions.
  • You should also be comfortable operating within a business undergoing change, balancing current sales and business development priorities with the opportunity to help build a stronger commercial organisation for the future.

Experience & Background

  • Successful B2B sales experience within industrial manufacturing, engineering or technical solutions.
  • Experience providing leadership, coaching and commercial direction within a sales environment.
  • Demonstrable success delivering revenue growth, developing strategic accounts and winning new business.
  • Strong understanding of forecasting, budgets, KPIs, pipeline management and CRM.
  • Experience of consultative, solution-based or value-led selling within technical markets.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing and engineering environments.
  • Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience within metal cutting, machining, tooling, machine tools or manufacturing technology would be particularly valuable, although candidates from other industrial engineering sectors are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience of commercial transformation, sales excellence or process improvement would be advantageous, as would knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or Agile methodologies.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly throughout the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The Package

  • Salary up to 100,000
  • Car allowance
  • Annual bonus of 15–20%
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Hybrid working
  • Long-term career opportunities within a global industrial organisation
