Accounts Assistant

• Location: Belfast City Centre
• Contract: Part-time (20-25 hours) across 5-days | Permanent | Office-based
• Salary: £14.50 - £16.00 an hour (dependent on experience)

Reed Accountancy is proud to represent an established and reputable company in Belfast City Centre who are seeking a motivated and ambitious Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic team, supporting their accountancy function.

This is a perfect opportunity for an Accounts Assistant seeking part-time hours across 5-days within a supportive working environment. You will be responsible for supporting daily financial operations, including banking, payments, invoicing, and ledger management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Monitor bank accounts, record incoming funds, and reconcile daily transactions.
• Process lodgements and maintain accurate financial records.
• Investigate and resolve banking discrepancies as required.
• Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate coding and posting.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve outstanding queries.
• Prepare and process supplier payments in line with agreed terms.
• Manage supplier accounts and online payment platforms.
• Verify and process payments in accordance with company policies and controls.
• Ensure all authorised transactions are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
• Assist with invoice processing and the allocation of receipts.
• Maintain accurate sales and client ledger accounts.
• Respond to account queries and support timely resolution of outstanding issues.
• Monitor work in progress and process approved adjustments where necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year’s previous experience in a dedicated finance/book-keeping role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
