Hire Operations Coordinator

Location: Basingstoke
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
Salary: Circa £32,000 DOE

We are seeking a proactive Hire Operations Coordinator to join a growing and successful business in Basingstoke. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing customer service, administration and operational responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

As a Hire Operations Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the hire function, delivering exceptional service to customers from initial enquiry through to equipment return.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing customer enquiries via phone and email
• Producing quotations, order confirmations and invoices
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
• Coordinating hire orders and ensuring timely dispatch
• Picking, packing and preparing equipment for hire
• Managing stock levels and equipment availability
• Inspecting, cleaning and processing returned equipment
• Maintaining accurate records and system updates
• Supporting the wider team to ensure excellent customer service standards are achieved

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Excellent organisational and administrative abilities
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks
• A positive, flexible and hands-on approach

Previous experience within hire, rental, logistics, operations, administration, customer service or internal sales would be advantageous but is not essential.
