Commercial Property Assistant

Salisbury

Full-time, Permanent

Looking to build your career in Commercial Property?

We're looking for a Commercial Property Assistant to join an established practice with offices across the region, supporting two experienced lawyers across a varied workload.

This could be a great opportunity for someone who already has some legal or property experience and is looking to take the next step in their career.

What will you be doing?

You’ll provide a mixture of legal, administrative and property-specific support, including:

  • Opening and setting up new matters and digital/physical files
  • Completing conflict, AML and ID checks
  • Preparing client care documentation
  • Transcribing dictation and preparing correspondence
  • Producing PDFs and dealing with printing, scanning and engrossments
  • Handling initial enquiries, telephone messages and arranging meetings
  • Assisting with accounts, including billing, receipting funds and disbursements
  • Ordering and dealing with property searches through InfoTrack
  • Obtaining Land Registry title documents
  • Preparing and submitting Land Registry applications and dealing with requisitions
  • Assisting with HMRC Stamp Duty Land Tax returns
  • Supporting fee earners with the day-to-day progression of commercial property matters
  • Closing and archiving completed matters

What are we looking for?

Some experience in a property team is preferable, ultimately someone who is organised, switched-on and keen to develop their legal career.

About you:

  • Some previous experience within a legal, property or professional services environment
  • An understanding of property transactions (commercial / residential)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved

Experience with HM Land Registry, HMRC and InfoTrack would be useful, but training can be provided.

This is a role where you'll work closely with experienced lawyers and gain exposure to the practical side of Commercial Property.

It's well suited to someone at the earlier stages of their legal career who wants to build their knowledge, take on more responsibility and develop within an established team.

If you're looking for your next step in Commercial Property and think this could be a good fit, get in touch for more information.
