Role- Head of Scotland

Salary- DOE

Reed are recruiting for an experienced, credible and self-sufficient postholder who can step into an established operation, maintain momentum and strengthen our clients presence in Scotland. This is a national leadership role, but not a purely strategic or figurehead position. The individual needs to move confidently between external influence, member engagement, strategy, commercial activity, team leadership and hands-on delivery.

The experience you will require-

  • Scotland credibility: strong current understanding of the Scottish political, economic and business landscape, with the confidence to explain what it means for directors and businesses.
  • State of the nation: able to articulate a clear, informed view of Scotland, keep that view current and translate it into relevant priorities and external positioning for the organization.
  • Stakeholder influence: able to manage and influence members, senior business stakeholders, policymakers, partners, sponsors and internal colleagues. We want purposeful relationships that achieve outcomes, not networking for its own sake.
  • Strategy and execution: can develop direction and convert it into focused plans, priorities, ownership and delivery.
  • Commercial instinct: comfortable identifying opportunities around membership, sponsorship and partnerships while protecting member value and organisational credibility.
  • Member focus: visible and responsive to members, able to understand recurring themes and turn member insight into action.

Duties included-

  • Lead operations across Scotland in alignment with UK strategy and the needs of members across the nation.
  • Collaborate with the relevant Management Team members to develop annual plans and budget
  • Provide proactive and inspirational leadership
  • Work closely with National and Branch Chairs to deliver engagement programmes
  • Act as a visible focal point for members, encouraging recruitment, retention and member engagement.
  • Support and promote volunteer office holders and ambassadors, including the Scotland Chair.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure content, PR and policy activity reflects Scottish priorities and opportunities.
  • Promote Chartered Director and Professional Development opportunities across Scotland.
  • Represent and promote Scotland’s interests with senior stakeholders and the Executive Management Team.
  • Direct the work program and oversight for the Nations Senior Policy Advisor to ensure our policy work is effectively delivering on our influence agenda for members in Scotland.
  • Review administrative processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Undertake additional duties and projects as reasonably required.

Reed are looking for candidates with strong, up to date and relevant experience working for a membership organisation in Scotland.
