Learning & Development Manager

We are seeking an experienced and people-focused Learning & Development Manager to lead and drive our learning, performance, and development strategy across the business.

This is a key role responsible for embedding a high-performance culture through effective learning initiatives, leadership development, and a robust Performance Development Review (PDR) process. Working closely with senior leaders, managers, and employees, you will ensure development opportunities are aligned to business objectives while supporting individuals to achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will be passionate about developing people, confident in influencing stakeholders at all levels, and capable of delivering both strategic and hands-on learning solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Management & Employee Development

• Track and monitor employee performance against agreed objectives.
• Support managers and employees where performance is not aligning with expectations through coaching, mentoring, training, and development plans.
• Drive engagement with performance reviews, objective setting, and regular 1-2-1 meetings.
• Monitor management commitment to employee development plans and performance reviews.
• Produce monthly reports highlighting performance trends, strengths, areas for improvement, and recommendations.

Learning & Development

• Conduct training needs analyses across the organisation.
• Design, implement, and evaluate learning and development programmes.
• Facilitate engaging training sessions, workshops, and development initiatives.
• Support managers in creating effective individual development plans.
• Develop onboarding, career development, leadership, and succession planning initiatives.
• Lead large-scale learning projects, including leadership development and change management programmes.
• Evaluate and implement new learning technologies, platforms, and external training solutions.
• Monitor and report on L&D budgets and expenditure.

Stakeholder Management

• Partner with senior leaders to align learning and development initiatives with business objectives.
• Coach and support managers in performance management best practices.
• Collaborate with HR and operational teams to drive continuous improvement and capability development.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and high performance.

About You

Experience & Skills

• Proven experience within Learning & Development, Talent Development, Organisational Development, or a related field.
• Experience implementing, managing, or enhancing performance management frameworks.
• Strong understanding of learning principles, instructional design, and adult learning methodologies.
• Experience delivering training and facilitating workshops.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
• Analytical approach with the ability to use data to drive decisions and measure effectiveness.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications
