Part-Time Bookkeeper – Temporary

Derby | 20 Hours per Week | Office-Based | £15ph | ASAP Start – Monday 26th October

Macildowie is working with an established business in Derby to recruit an experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper on a temporary basis.

This is a great opportunity for a confident and experienced Bookkeeper who can hit the ground running, take ownership of day-to-day finance tasks and support a busy finance function.

The Role

Working 20 hours per week, with flexibility around how these hours are spread across the working week, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing sales ledger activities, including invoicing and payment allocations.

• Processing purchase ledger invoices and supplier payments.

• Handling customer and supplier queries, resolving discrepancies efficiently.

• Processing and reconciling employee expenses.

• Maintaining and updating financial templates and records.

• Supporting general bookkeeping and day-to-day finance administration.

• Ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date.

About You

We are looking for someone who can quickly settle into the role and work independently.

Ideally, you will have:

• AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience using Sage 50 – highly desirable.

• Previous experience in a Bookkeeper, Accounts Assistant or similar position.

• Good working knowledge of both sales and purchase ledger.

• Strong attention to detail and the confidence to manage queries independently.

• Availability to start Monday 26th October.
