Outside Account Manager - Peterborough - up to £40,000 + Company car Our Client is a dynamic and progressive metals and plastic distributor. They are looking for an Outside Account Manager to join their team in Peterborough. Key responsibilities of the Account Manager: * Reviews market analysis and determines customer needs, potential volume, pricing schedule. * Develops accounts sales campaigns. * Proactively contacts customers and maintains relationships with those who have existing and business development opportunities and/or have had a history of purchasing from our sister company. * Travel to customer sites to meet with appropriate stakeholders. * Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling and value add services such as fabrication, processing, polishing etc. * Manage customer needs and ensure a high level of customer service. * Negotiate terms appropriately to close deal. * Obtains and relates customer, service and inventory data to appropriate Manager. * Prepares appropriate reports in agreed format and to agreed timescales. * Work with the Vice President – Europe (Specialty Distribution or Aerospace) and Business Development Manager to help organise global exhibitions. * Manage and maintain in-house CRM system keeping compressive records of activities. * Clearly communicate progress against agreed targets – in format agreed. * Forecast and track key account metrics. * Assist with challenging customer requests. * Liaise with internal sales team to ensure customers’ needs are managed appropriately Key skills of the Account Manager: * At least 2 years proven account management experience ideally in commercial / aerospace sectors / metals industry * Tenacious and highly motivated and able to work individually or in a team * Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal * Ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organisation * Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint Salary – up to £40,000 plus company car Peterborough office - office based when not out visiting customers. 23 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 28 with service Pension – 5% employee contribution, 3% employer (rises with service – max 8%) Life assurance after 3 months service Income protection after 3 months service Employee Assistance Programme 24hr GP service Discount portal Free car parking Account manager, sales, metal, plastic, commercial, aerospace, account management
