Your new role
As Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing a designated sales ledger and maintaining strong relationships with customers to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices. Reporting into the senior credit control function, you will play a key role in minimising financial risk, maximising cash collection, and resolving account queries efficiently.Key responsibilities will include:

• Chasing outstanding debts and making regular customer contact.
• Managing customer credit limits and monitoring account exposures.
• Setting up new customer accounts and carrying out credit checks.
• Building and maintaining positive customer relationships.
• Reconciling customer accounts and resolving payment queries.
• Ensuring aged debt remains at a minimum across your ledger.
• Delivering agreed credit control targets and KPIs.
• Supporting a positive team culture and contributing to a high-performing finance function.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience within a credit control or accounts receivable environment and be confident in communicating with stakeholders at all levels.You will also demonstrate:

• Proven credit control experience.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• A professional and customer-focused approach.
• Confidence in handling difficult conversations when required.
• The ability to investigate and resolve account queries effectively.
• Experience working within an SME environment would be advantageous.
• A proactive, adaptable, and resilient mindset.
