Your starting point would be to learn the operation, understand its processes and build relationships with the people around you. From there, you would have the opportunity to identify improvements and put your ideas into practice. There is an established planning system in place, with scope for you to improve how it is used. You would bring your troubleshooting skills to understand where issues arise, improve the consistency of information going into the system and help colleagues work more effectively together. You would bring production planning experience, but your approach will matter just as much. You will be someone who listens, asks questions and takes colleagues with you when making changes.
