Senior FP&A Analyst

Salary: Up to £65,000 + 10% Bonus

Location: Northampton

Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days from home

Veracious Talent Partners are exclusively partnering with a growing, PE-backed organisation in Northampton to recruit a Senior FP&A Analyst.

This is an opportunity for an experienced FP&A professional to join an ambitious business where Finance has a clear voice in operational and strategic decisions. With ownership of key planning activities, exposure to senior stakeholders and scope to improve how the function operates, there’s plenty of opportunity to make your mark.

Working closely with the Senior FP&A Manager, you’ll take a leading role in budgeting and forecasting while partnering with stakeholders across multiple departments. You’ll get close to their plans and priorities, challenge assumptions and provide the insight needed to make informed decisions.

Process improvement is a key part of the opportunity. The business wants someone who can recognise where reporting and planning have become too manual, rethink the approach and deliver practical improvements through automation. You’ll have the opportunity to put ideas into practice and create more time for analysis and business partnering.

Key areas of the role will include:

  • Leading key elements of annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting, coordinating inputs and challenging the assumptions behind the numbers.
  • Building strong relationships with budget holders and senior stakeholders, providing financial guidance and constructive challenge.
  • Taking ownership of monthly and quarterly reporting, analysis and forecasting around headcount and overheads.
  • Explaining the drivers behind performance, highlighting emerging risks and opportunities and recommending appropriate action.
  • Developing financial models and scenario analysis to support planning, spending decisions and business initiatives.
  • Improving planning and reporting processes, reducing manual activity and implementing effective automation.
  • Presenting clear, commercially relevant insight to senior stakeholders.
  • Delivering deeper analysis into areas of performance that need further investigation.

You’ll be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with solid FP&A experience and a track record of independently managing budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.

Proven experience of process improvement or automation is essential. You should be able to talk through changes you’ve delivered, how you brought them into use and the difference they made.

Strong Excel and financial modelling skills are important, alongside the confidence to engage with stakeholders, ask thoughtful questions and explain financial information clearly. You’ll enjoy taking ownership and following your analysis through to a practical recommendation.

The business has a real appetite for investing in its people. You’ll join a growing organisation where you can broaden your exposure, work closely with senior stakeholders and help shape the continued development of the FP&A function.
