Registered Manager - Children's Residential Service

Are you an experienced Registered Manager looking for an opportunity to lead and shape a high-quality children's residential service?

Location: Sutton

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 DOE

Hours: Full-Time

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday with flexibility to meet operational requirements

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Manager to join an established and growing care provider supporting children within a residential setting.

Please note: Previous experience within children's residential care and a strong understanding of Ofsted regulations are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership and day-to-day management of a children's residential service.
• Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted regulations, legislation and safeguarding requirements.
• Lead, motivate and develop a multidisciplinary care team to deliver outstanding outcomes.
• Maintain high standards of care, support and wellbeing for children.
• Manage staff recruitment, supervision, performance management and training.
• Oversee care planning, risk assessments and placement matching processes.
• Monitor and improve service quality through audits, compliance checks and action planning.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with local authorities, external professionals and stakeholders.
• Manage budgets, occupancy levels and operational performance.
• Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring continuous improvement.
• Promote a positive, child-centred culture across the service.
• Ensure safeguarding concerns are managed appropriately and escalated where required.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or similar leadership role within children's residential care.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding legislation and residential care standards.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete).
• Proven experience managing and developing care teams.
• Experience in quality assurance, compliance and service improvement.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working with children with complex needs, behavioural challenges or emotional support requirements.
• Strong understanding of child-centred care and positive outcomes.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites when required.
• A proactive, resilient and compassionate leadership style.
