Bridging and Buy to Let Finance

We are working with a well established lender who specialise in Bridging and Buy to Let finance, who are looking to recruit a Senior Underwriter to support business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• To utilise mandate to underwrite mortgage applications
• To manage a pipeline of cases ensuring key stages are achieved as quickly as possible and keeping the broker informed and updated
• To undertake fraud checks using third party tools
• To act as a referral point for the wider underwriting team, for case referrals both within and outside of mandate, including Senior Lending Team (SLT) referrals
• To undertake monthly audits of the underwriting team and provide feedback on areas for improvements and any development needs
• Daily allocation and review of DIP’s on submission, to ensure Terms are available
• Daily activities planning and pipeline information for the lending and wider team
• Ownership of data held within the sourcing systems, to ensure products can be identified and key criteria reviewed
• Working with the Processing team to ensure all documentation is issued, accurately and all requirements and offer conditions are appropriate and clear

Skills and Experience

• Excellent audit results for own work, showing no current or historic issues with quality of underwriting or activities undertaken
• Previous experience of buddying a junior member of the team, to achieve their mandate
• Exposure to large loan underwriting and referrals to senior management team
• Strong underwriting background and having held a mandate of at least £500k
• Experience underwriting BTL or Bridging (or both!)
