Hays Civil Engineering are delighted to be working with a leading UK infrastructure contractor to recruit a Senior Site Engineer for a major water and wastewater capital delivery programme in the Midlands.This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established project team delivering large-scale upgrades to treatment and network infrastructure as part of a long-term investment framework. The role offers the chance to work on complex civil engineering works including reinforced concrete structures, deep drainage, pipelines, earthworks and associated infrastructure.

Your New Role

As Senior Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the technical delivery of major civils packages, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing setting out activities and maintaining site control networks.
• Supervising and mentoring Site Engineers and engineering teams.
• Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Producing and reviewing quality documentation including ITPs, inspection records and as-built information.
• Supporting the management of temporary works and ensuring safe delivery on site.
• Reviewing design information and raising technical queries where required.
• Monitoring progress and assisting project delivery teams in achieving programme objectives.
• Driving high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance across the project.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer within civil engineering.
• Strong background delivering water, wastewater or other related infrastructure projects.
• Experience with concrete structures, drainage, pipelines, earthworks or treatment works infrastructure.
• Proficiency using surveying equipment including GPS and robotic total stations.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and coordinate technical delivery on site.
• HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Valid CSCS card.
• SMSTS, SSSTS and/or Temporary Works qualifications would be advantageous.
