Senior Accounts Payable - 6-Month Contract

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per annum
Contract: 6 months
Start Date: Immediate start preferred (or a maximum of 1 week's notice)
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 1 day per week in the office

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable professional to join our team on an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong accounts payable background and at least 5 years' experience working within a Shared Service Centre environment.

The successful candidate will be confident managing high-volume invoice processing, resolving complex queries, and ensuring the smooth running of accounts payable operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time.
• Manage supplier accounts, reconciliations, and payment runs.
• Investigate and resolve complex invoice and payment discrepancies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Support month-end activities, ensuring accurate reporting and timely completion.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and operational efficiency.
• Provide guidance and support to colleagues where required.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Accounts Payable within a Shared Service Centre.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end accounts payable processes.
• Proven experience managing high volumes of invoices and supplier queries.
• Excellent reconciliation, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Available to start immediately or with a maximum of 1 week's notice.
