Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Fitter on a 5 Month Contract based in Scotland. Role Summary We're looking for an experienced substation fitter to join the team building the new Finstown substation in Orkney. The substation will be the main electricity hub for the islands as part of a major project to connect Orkney to the GB grid for the first time. This is a long-term, high-profile project and a chance to work on something that will be in the news for years. Responsibilities * Installing earthing systems, including earth conductors, earth rods, earth bars and bonding connections * Fitting and securing substation equipment, steelwork and supports * Installing cable supports, trays and containment * Working from drawings and installation specifications * Making sure earthing connections are neat, secure and ready for testing * Working safely to site rules, permits and method statements Requirements * Valid CSCS card (essential) * Proven earthing experience on a substation, power or similar site (essential) * Experience as a substation fitter, mechanical fitter or similar * Able to read and work from installation drawings * Happy to work away from home on a remote island site Our Company Rubicon Consulting is a Talent management consultancy which helps you to optimise business performance and competitive advantage by choosing the right people first time
