We're recruiting an Interim IT Support Engineer to support a large-scale device refresh and migration programme whilst providing high-quality end-user support across the business. This is a hands-on role combining laptop deployments, Microsoft Intune administration, migration activities and BAU technical support.

Description

• This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Interim IT Support Engineer to join a busy and growing IT team on an initial 3-month contract.
• You'll play a key role in supporting ongoing migration and laptop refresh projects, alongside providing day-to-day technical support to end users.
• Working within a Microsoft environment, you'll be involved in laptop builds, device deployments, Microsoft Intune administration, user migrations, asset management and ticket resolution.
• This role requires someone who is equally comfortable delivering project-based work and providing hands-on support to colleagues across the business.
• You will have flexibility to work in a hybrid capacity, with 2-3 days per week being on-site. In addition to supporting the main Birmingham office, some travel will be required to regional sites across the Midlands.

Some of the key responsibilities:

• Build, configure and deploy laptops and end-user devices.
• Support Windows 11 migration and laptop refresh programmes.
• Enrol and manage devices using Microsoft Intune.
• Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to end users.
• Investigate and resolve incidents and service requests.
• Support user onboarding, offboarding and account administration.
• Assist with project delivery, testing and post-deployment hypercare activities.
• Maintain accurate asset management and inventory records.
• Provide desk-side and floor-walking support where required.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Profile

As the successful candidate for the Interim IT Support Engineer position, you will have the following experience:

• Previous experience in an IT Support, Desktop Support or EUC Engineer position.
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune and device management.
• Windows 10/11 deployment and support experience.
• Active Directory and Entra ID knowledge.
• Experience supporting migration, rollout or refresh projects.
• Familiarity with ticket management systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment.

Job Offer

• Interim IT Support Engineer contract in Birmingham.
• Daily rate of £280 to £300 per day (Inside IR35).
