£55,700 | DAYS ONLY | Monday to Friday | East London
Not all engineering jobs are created equal.
If you're an experienced Maintenance Engineer, you'll know there's a big difference between working somewhere that just needs you to keep the machines running and working somewhere that genuinely takes engineering seriously.
And if you're going to spend part of your day travelling into London, you want to know it's worth the journey.
We're recruiting for a leading FMCG manufacturer in East London, and the way I often describe this place to engineers is that it's the Premier League of manufacturing sites.
The engineering standards are high, the people are excellent, and the variety of equipment is something you won't find in many places.
So, what's the opportunity?
Firstly, it's £55,700, working days only, Monday to Friday.
No rotating shifts. No nights.
But the real attraction is the engineering environment.
You'll be working with everything from traditional heavy mechanical machinery that's been operating for decades through to modern automation, robotics and sophisticated control systems.
You'll be involved in planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, reliability improvements and engineering projects.
And you'll be working alongside some genuinely experienced engineers, supported by a strong engineering management team.
What if you're not fully multi-skilled?
Here's something else worth considering.
Although this business has exceptionally high engineering standards, they're also willing to invest in developing the right people.
So, if you're a mechanically biased engineer who wants to improve your electrical skills, or an electrically biased engineer who wants to develop mechanically, this could be a fantastic opportunity to become genuinely multi-skilled.
You'll be surrounded by experienced engineers, working on an enormous variety of equipment, with the opportunity to develop skills that could benefit you throughout your career.
You'll need a minimum Level 3 engineering qualification, ideally through an apprenticeship, and experience maintaining equipment within a manufacturing or continuous process environment.
What about the commute?
Let's be realistic. If you're travelling from Essex or Kent, you're potentially going to be dealing with London traffic.
But if you're within roughly an hour of the site, it's worth considering what you're getting in return.
For engineers living in London, particularly South East London, public transport is also an option.
Sometimes the best opportunity isn't necessarily the one closest to home.
Is it worth a conversation?
If you're a good engineer who wants to work somewhere with high standards, develop your technical abilities and be surrounded by people you can learn from, this could be a really interesting move.
And if you're currently working shifts but would prefer to work days, that's another reason to consider it.
£55,700. Days only. Monday to Friday. A fantastic engineering environment with the opportunity to develop your skills.
