Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Engineer Location: Enfield, North London Salary: £45,000 + Excellent Benefits Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off – Days Only Working Hours: 08:00 – 20:00 Call-Out: 1 in 4 rota (£10 per day standby, minimum 4 hours) The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join one of the world's leading Facilities Management providers, working on a key contract based at a research and treatment centre in Enfield. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Mechanical Engineer or Plumber to join a large, established engineering team, carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a wide range of mechanical building services. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining critical mechanical plant and equipment, ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently. Importantly, the successful candidate will also be given the opportunity to undertake a Mechanical Authorised Person (AP) course. Upon successful completion, this will result in a £2,000 increase to your basic salary, taking your salary to £47,000. Key Responsibilities * Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive mechanical maintenance. * Maintaining, servicing and repairing a range of mechanical building services equipment. * Working on actuators, pressure sensors and control systems. * Maintaining and repairing heat exchangers, pumps and expansion vessels. * Working on extract fans and pressurisation units. * Carrying out maintenance on air handling units (AHUs). * Fault-finding and diagnosing mechanical plant issues. * Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed to a high standard. * Completing maintenance records and relevant compliance documentation. Salary & Benefits * £45,000 basic salary. * £2,000 salary increase upon successful completion of the Mechanical AP course (£47,000 total basic salary). * 20% shift allowance. * 4 on 4 off shift pattern – days only Essential Requirements * Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Plumbing. * Previous experience working within mechanical maintenance or Facilities Management. * Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services. * Experience maintaining pumps, valves, heat exchangers and associated mechanical plant. * Good fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities. * Excellent communication and customer service skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team. * A proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.
