Clean Energy Futures Strategy Lead
Salary: £55,000-£58,000 per annum
Location: Remote
Contract: Full-time, permanent, with international travel

Merrifield Consultants are recruiting a Clean Energy Futures Strategy Lead for an international not-for-profit organisation.

How can the move towards cleaner energy become more affordable, accessible and fair? This role brings people's experiences into discussions with those making decisions across the energy sector.

You will join an established programme with a strong international network. Senior stakeholder management and programme delivery are central to the role, with opportunities to lead discussions at major events and help shape the organisation's approach to energy.

About the role
You will build relationships with senior people across business, government and civil society, bringing together different views and making sure research informs decisions rather than simply becoming another report.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing an international evidence programme, exploring people's experiences of the energy transition and using the findings to inform discussions about policy and practice.
• Maintaining and developing senior relationships, involving members and partners from different countries, and representing the organisation at international meetings and events.
• Contributing to the wider energy strategy alongside senior colleagues and supporting other programmes.
• Reporting to funders, maintaining those relationships and developing proposals with a dedicated fundraising colleague. You will not be solely responsible for securing programme funding.

The balance will vary as projects develop, but you will remain closely involved in both delivering programmes and the conversations that follow.

About you
You will bring strong programme management experience in energy or a related field, alongside a track record of building relationships with senior stakeholders.

• Senior Stakeholder Management: Experience building relationships with senior stakeholders across business, government, civil society or similar settings. You should be comfortable leading discussions, managing different priorities and representing an organisation externally.
• Programme Management: Strong programme management experience in energy or a related field, with responsibility for delivering complex programmes involving different partners and stakeholders.
• Sector and Policy Understanding: A background in energy, climate, sustainability, consumer affairs or another related area.
• Communication and Judgement: Ability to explain complex issues clearly, use evidence well and communicate confidently with different audiences.
