Senior Credit Controller

Robert Half are delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing organisation based in the heart of Cardiff in their search for a Senior Credit Controller.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced credit professional to join a supportive finance team and take ownership of the credit control function. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing customer accounts, reducing aged debt, and maintaining strong client relationships while supporting the wider finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and maintaining a portfolio of customer accounts.
• Proactively chasing outstanding debt via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
• Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries in a timely manner.
• Monitoring aged debt and producing regular reports for management.
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Negotiating payment plans where required.
• Allocating cash receipts and reconciling customer accounts.
• Supporting month-end processes and reporting requirements.
• Assisting with the implementation and improvement of credit control procedures.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a Senior Credit Controller or similar credit management role.
• A proven track record of reducing aged debt and improving cash collection.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• The ability to manage a high-volume workload and prioritise effectively.
• Experience using finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
• A proactive, professional, and customer-focused approach.
